BUGA Dresden 2033 will participate on Saturday, June 13, 2026, with a “BUGA Future Mile” in front of the Stadtforum at the Open City Hall of the state capital of Dresden. Together with the Saxony Association for Garden, Landscape, and Sports Field Construction (VGLS) (VGLS), the Central German Horticultural Association (Gartenbauverband Mitteldeutschland e. V.), and the Friends of BUGA Dresden 2033 Association (Förderverein BUGA Dresden 2033 e. V.), the team will provide information on the current status of planning and the outlook for the 2033 Federal Horticultural Show.

In addition to providing information on the planned projects and development goals of BUGA Dresden 2033, the staff of BUGA Dresden 2033 gGmbH and its partners will be available for discussions, questions, and direct dialogue.

A special highlight of the program is the presentation of support packages to the national team of landscape gardeners, which will represent Saxony at WorldSkills 2026 in Shanghai this September.

These young professionals exemplify professional expertise and future prospects in Saxony’s horticulture and landscaping sector, and as the first BUGA ambassadors, they will represent the Dresden Federal Horticultural Show on the international stage.

“The 2033 Federal Horticultural Show is a project for Dresden’s future. At the Open City Hall event, we invite all Dresden residents to learn about the current plans. The strong commitment of our partners and the enthusiasm of the young professionals on the national team of landscape gardeners already demonstrate just how much momentum BUGA 2033 has for Dresden,” says Mayor Dirk Hilbert.

In addition, as part of the “Open City Hall” event, the new BUGA Dresden 2033 website will go live. Mayor Dirk Hilbert and the management of BUGA Dresden 2033 gGmbH will thus launch the central information site in the run-up to the Federal Horticultural Show.

“With the BUGA Future Mile and the launch of our new website, we’re inviting the people of Dresden to actively participate in the 2033 Federal Horticultural Show. The strong commitment of our partners from the horticultural sector and the Friends Association demonstrates the broad support for this forward-looking project,” says Marcel Timmroth, Managing Director of BUGA Dresden 2033 gGmbH.

Through their joint effort, the participating partners are setting an example for regional value creation, securing a skilled workforce, and fostering close collaboration between urban communities, the regional economy, associations, and volunteers. The 2033 Federal Horticultural Show offers an opportunity to initiate sustainable developments and highlight the region’s strengths over the long term.
