From September 22 to 27, 2026, Lennard Weitzmann and Marc-Aurel Spalek—the first official BUGA ambassadors—will compete at WorldSkills 2026 in Shanghai. The 2025 German champions in landscape gardening from Wirth & Wiener GmbH in Chemnitz will represent Germany there in the gardening and landscaping category and, at the same time, bring the vision of BUGA Dresden 2033 to the international stage.
Their participation is part of a competition in which the world’s best young professionals compete in passion, precision, and innovation. At the WorldSkills Competition, approximately 1,500 participants from about 70 countries and regions compete against one another in more than 60 occupational disciplines.
For BUGA Dresden 2033, Lennard Weitzmann and Marc-Aurel Spalek represent more than just professional excellence and a competitive spirit. Through their commitment, they also represent the innovative strength and sustainability of the horticulture and landscaping sector, which is a key industry for sustainable urban development and green infrastructure.
Together with our partner, the Saxony Association for Gardening, Landscaping, and Sports Field Construction (VGLS), we are pleased to support the German participants and help shape the future of gardening and landscaping.
